My fellow apostolics:

Revival greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Executive Board has approved a national evangelism goal of One Million Souls In Five Years (OMSIFY) last August 2009 mid-year meeting. This reflects the VISION of the leadership on the eventual salvation of our countrymen at the coming again of our God and Savior, JESUS CHRIST.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish. . .” Proverbs 29:18

This is also a passionate call from our elders to reallign our focus to the main reason why we exist as the UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH in the Philippines Islands, to wit, that The Whole Gospel be preached To the Whole World.

Every minister and saint is hereby enjoined by this action from the Executive Board to raise our level of unity in reaching out to the lost and dying without Christ in the land. Let us remind ourselves once again that our time is short and we have the message that will lead them to eternal life. We are the people of the Name whereby all must be saved. Amen.

Furthermore, let nothing hinder us from doing what the Lord has called us to do. He chose and ordained us to bring forth fruit (John 15:16). Together, therefore, let us rise to the challenge of reaching one million souls in five years for JESUS CHRIST the Lord.

With you in the harvest,

Rev. Alfredo S. Bodegas, DDiv. (SGD)
General Superintendent
United Pentecostal Church Phils., Inc.

UPC Philippines Celebrated Its “Jubilee Year”

September 11, 2008 by admin

The United Pentecostal Church in the Philippines commemorated its 50th Anniversary by synchronizing the special event with last year’s annual General Conference. Jubilant sounds of adoration and thanksgiving exploded in succession during its six-day celebration at Cuneta Astrodome last February 19-24, 2007 and culminated to a massive bang of “dunamis” power at the Quirino Grandstand, Luneta in February 25.

Backed up by the 50-day prayer schedule of WNOP ministry from January 1 to February 19, and painstakingly organized: by the Jubilee Team spearheaded by Rev. Arturo Martinez, the week-long festivity was no doubt outstanding.

Each day was designed with distinctive features:

  • Monday - WNOP Seminar & SFC Concert
  • Tuesday - TUGON Seminar and Concert-Drama Presentation
  • Wednesday – Jubilee Banquet at Manila Hotel
  • Thursday - Conference Seminar and Revival Service / Opening of the Business Session
  • Friday - Conference Seminar and Revival Service / Election of New Superintendent and National Officials During the Business Session
  • Saturday - Conference Seminar and Revival Service / Ordination Service
  • Sunday - Golden Jubilee Service

The momentous event was graced with the presence of former American General Superintendents, namely, Rev. Carl Adam, Rev Gordon Mallory and Rev. Carl Varnell. They, together with former and current missionaries who attended, were doubly amazed at how the Church has grown in number and matured over the years. With great pride, they commended the former and the current national leaders for their sacrificial efforts and commitment in God’s work.

Through their inspiring sermons and teachings, Rev. Bruce Howell, the Director of UPCI Foreign Missions Division; Rev. Jerry Richardson, Regional Director of Africa; and Rev. David Bernard, a Bible scholar, motivated the Church even more to soar to greater heights and be an influencer in the preaching of the apostolic truth not just within its national boundaries but beyond.

What added greater excitement to the occasion was the election for the General Superintendent, along with other national officials. Rev- Alfredo Bodegas got a strong vote for being the new General Superintendent. He succeeded Rev. Romeo Navallo who resigned after 12 years of faithfully serving the highest office. Rev, Arturo Martinez was elected as Vice President and Assistant Superintendent for Region 1. (Luzon and Palawan)
